Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson, an artist's daughter, from Mexico was born into the music-loving parents of her family. While growing up, she listened to many classical music, as well traditional boleros. They also played traditional romantic ballads and ranchero. Ana loves the opera and tango genres as well as every form of dramatic performances. Ana started learning how to sing and play instruments from an early age, along together with her mom. She was given more formal vocal instruction in the year she turned 16 old, under the legendary Mexican Tenor Flavio BECARRA. It was at the School of Music of Guadalajara University and the School of Sacred Music of Toluca in Mexico continued her music education. She sang in Guadalajara, Mexico City and other cities as a young musician and student. After 2000, she moved to the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Then, in 2007, she settled in her new home in Southern California. She currently is a part of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and frequently performs solo of traditional Latin American music at private concerts. She is involved with many local activities, both an instructor and performer because of her passion for art and music. Ana was also part of both the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is currently a teacher at the Performance Loft. Ana is privileged being able be able to share her enthusiasm for traditional Latin American music. She hopes to inspire younger generations to help keep the traditional music going.
